Simplon Bikes, who sell Bicycles and offer spinning classes in Brig-Glis Valais want to create a facility that unites strength training, physical therapy and a pump track under the same roof as well as their flagship store and spinning classes. The location near a busy road provides significant exposure and advertisement opportunities. Sustainability and consciousness are key aspects of the design, which lead to build with local timber. Keeping the functional purpose of the building in mind, the finishes are simple and prioritise practicality like the polycarbonate facade. On the ground floor the coffee shop offers guests views on the pump track while the rest of the level houses the extensive sales and exhibition area that enables the client to fully showcase his product range. The first floor, which which is visible from the sales floor through cutouts, accommodates areas for strength training, spinning, modular rooms for massages and physical therapy, as well as locker rooms, and a theory room which all caters to various fitness needs, while the strategic location and design features aim to attract customers and promote an active lifestyle.
